Granules

Multi-head Granular EFX with per-head FX processing

Pocket Granules shreds any input — live or file — into clouds of micro-grains across five independent heads, each with its own freeze, pitch, and FX chain. Stack them to weave shimmering pads, glitched stutters, frozen drones, or evolving ambient textures from a single source.

A deep modulation rig (5 LFOs, step sequencer, envelope follower) wires to any knob — grain or FX — with per-connection bipolar amount. Static patches become living, breathing soundscapes that morph and respond on their own.

Pocket Granules — all five heads with FX chain

Simple controls,
complex transformation,
instant inspiration.

Most granular plugins generate one cloud of statistical particles. Pocket Granules gives you five fully independent grain heads — each playing back from the same live buffer, but with its own position, rate, length, pitch, FX, and modulation.

The result is a granular texture you can voice in parts: one head holds a low pad, another scatters high stutters, a third freezes a phrase. Five colours, five grains, infinite sonic forms.

Per-grain knob controls in motion

Per-grain control

Position, spread, rate, length, pitch, reverse, shape parameters fully adjustable. Rate and Length free-running or host-synced.

Modulation routing in motion

Modulation

Five LFOs, a 16-step sequencer, and an envelope follower. Press Assign, click any knob, route it.

Per-head FX slots

Per-head FX

Four FX slots per head, four FX available per head: filter, delay, bitcrush, reverb.

Closer Look

Pocket Granules makes granular synthesis more intuitive by breaking down the plugin into easy-to-use modules that interact with each other.

  1. This is where incoming audio is captured and read by the grain heads. The buffer display also showcases grains by their length, their life and their position in the current buffer to offer better understanding of parameter settings and the audio feedback.

  2. Eight knobs per head: position, spread, rate, length, pitch, reverse, gain, and grain shape. Rate runs free in milliseconds or syncs to the host with normal / dotted / triplet divisions. Length can also be linked to the rate as a ratio, so grain density stays locked as the rate changes.

  3. Four FX slots per head, four FX available per head: filter, delay, bitcrush, reverb.

  4. Five LFOs, a 16-step sequencer, and an envelope follower. Hit Assign, click any knob to route a source. Opt-click an LFO destination to make it bipolar. In Assign mode, right-click a modulated knob to bypass or remove its connection.

  5. Switch the main buffer between Live mode — reading DAW input in real time — and File mode, where you drag and drop a file straight into the buffer. Each grain head also has its own freeze toggle to lock that head's view of the buffer in place.

Why

Multi-head granular,
built for deeper sonic exploration.

Most granular tools route everything through a single audio stream, leaving no way to shape grains independently. Multi-head granular synthesis isn’t a foundational concept — but giving each voice its own grain engine, FX chain, and modulation opens up timbral and creative directions a single cloud can’t reach.
